Yu is a Maths graduate having achieved her Bachelors in Mathematical Science from the City University of London University in 2011. She then went onto graduate from her Masters in Applied Mathematics from Imperial College.
Yu is a professional tutor who specialises in preparing children for the Common Entrance Exams 11+ and 13+ with a high success rate in securing places at the student’s first choice schools. She also teaches GCSE, iGCSE and A-level exams. She is passionate about giving young people the best possible education in life, and relishes the challenge of managing a diverse workload. Her goal is to ensure that her students feel supported and encouraged whilst striving to reach their full potential.
Yu has 8 years of tutoring experience. Her students are from both Independent Schools and Maintained State Schools. She has most frequently taught those who come from the top tier of Independent Schools, such as Colet court, St Paul’s Boys School, Westminster School, Frances Holland School, Cheltenham Ladies’ College and King’s College School, Wimbledon.
Yu believes that every child is different, so she adjusts her teaching style to enhance the student’s learning. It is a priority of hers to make sure that tutees have a firm grasp of the core skills needed to satisfy the requirements of the examination boards at different levels of the national curriculum. She provides a depth of knowledge to those who love Maths, and gives dedicating support to those who find it more challenging. She tailors every session to the student’s demands and builds up the strategies and frameworks to adapt to his or her individual skills. She has her own teaching materials.
