Ruselle went to school in London where she completed A-levels in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and AS-level Physics. After this she went straight on to study Biochemistry at Queen Mary University of London where she graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours (2:1).
Throughout her studies she took on a number of tutoring clients and she continued to tutor after completing her degree. She found working with children and getting them excited about science highly rewarding and so she decided to get into teaching. Ruselle completed her PGCE at Kings College, London, and went on to start her NQT as a Teacher of Science at St. Anne’s Catholic High School for Girls.
Having taught both in classroom and privately, Ruselle believes that in order for efficient learning to take place, the pupil needs to be engaged and challenged. As such, she always ensures that she uses various teaching techniques to make this possible; this includes using pictures, colourful diagrams, games and memory techniques to help them retain the information. Ruselle also thinks that it’s vital that the pupil is challenged outside of the topic and so she tends to ask thought-provoking questions linked to what they need to know. Ruselle has taught at a number of different schools including St. Mary`s Magdalene Academy in Highbury and Islington, St. Ignatius College, and St Anne`s Catholic High School for girls. She is familiar with a number of exam boards and is an excellent Maths, Biology and Chemistry Tutor for GCSE and Biology tutor at A-level.
Ruselle really enjoys being active and frequently indulges in strength training, body conditioning and Pilates. She also enjoys cooking and experimenting with different ingredients to make delicious, nutritious meals!
