Paul completed A-levels in Biology, Physics and French as well as an AS level in Chemistry. He then undertook a B.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences at Nottingham University, where he discovered his talent for explaining science to GCSE students as a tutor.
Upon graduating he began a career in Education as a Learning Support Assistant in a London Secondary School, where he focused on helping students with Special Needs to achieve their potential. He worked both in science classes and on a one-to-one basis with students to help develop their literacy, study skills and subject knowledge. During this time, he began tutoring biology A-level and led extra revision classes for both Year 12 and 13 Biology students at the school. Here Paul developed an understanding of the challenges that GCSE and A-level students often faced and developed a number of pedagogical techniques to help them overcome these challenges.
Following this, Paul went on to qualify as a Teacher of Science, specialising in Biology, achieving a PGCE from King’s College London in 2015. He then began to work as a Specialist Science Teacher at a large London Secondary School, teaching Year 7 up to Year 13. Paul enjoys sharing his knowledge and passion for Science and Biology with GCSE and A-level students
Paul always takes an individual approach to tutoring, helping his students to get a handle on the subject in the way that works for them. He tailors a programme to ensure the students are making progress between sessions. Within his tuition, Paul uses a wide range of resources that he has himself has developed along with top quality online resources and subject-specific text books. He also includes rigorous exam technique so that his students can achieve the marks they deserve.
