Matthew has a passion for social sciences and related disciplines. This led him to study Economics, Politics (scoring maximum marks), and Psychology at A-level before then going on to read a B.Sc. in Psychology at the University of Southampton. He was also fortunate enough to study a number of other subjects on the side at university level including Statistics, Healthcare Economics and Astrophysics. His passion lies in the field of Behavioural Economics, a modern discipline that attempts to use empirical techniques from Psychology to study Economic behaviour.
Matthew has a wealth of experience in private tuition. He has taught over 75 students since graduating in 2014, with a high degree of success and unrelenting endeavour to see his tutees succeed to their highest potential. His subject knowledge is second-to-none and this aids Matthew in helping teach and organise the revision necessary for his students. In turn, Matthew’s students can explore with confidence the correct way to structure written arguments necessary for the longer form assessments in his subjects. Matthew is a confident and engaging tutor and manages to instil a motivation in his students to reach ever higher levels of attainment.
Matthew’s skills lie in his ability to tailor and personalise his tuition to suit each student, aided by a wealth of revision and study resources he has self-developed over the years. He can cover course content, coursework writing and exam technique, both on a weekly basis or for a more intense period just prior to the examinations. Whatever the situation, Matthew has consistently helped students move forward to enhance their performance.
