Lotis is an English specialist with five years’ experience teaching at all key stages, with a focus on preparing for the 11+. After completing her A-Levels in English Literature, History and French, she went on to complete a joint Honours in History and Politics at the University of Warwick, where she graduated with a 2:1 in 2011.
Following a year abroad living in both Singapore and Italy, she completed a PGCE with Canterbury Christ Church University, as part of the highly competitive Teach First graduate scheme and was consistently rated an “Outstanding” teacher throughout both her training and subsequent career. By the end of her second year in teaching, Lotis was both the Lead Teacher of Government and Politics and the Assistant Head of Sixth Form at a school in West London. After leaving teaching she went on to work at The Church of England Foundation for Educational Leadership and now supports university students to be work-ready in her capacity as the Co-founder of social enterprise, VOLO Group.
Alongside her classroom teaching experience, Lotis has also privately tutored over 30 pupils for entry to some of the UK’s most elite institutions including St Paul’s, City of London School, Merchant Taylor’s and Godolphin and Latymer. Using her extensive knowledge of the English curriculum for multiple year groups, Lotis’ 11+ teaching style focusses on “teaching up” in order to ensure that the skills her students gain during tuition support them to succeed beyond the exam. Her approach of providing continuous feedback and frequent opportunities to improve means that her students usually master all of the necessary skills required to stay ahead of the pack at secondary school.
Lotis continues to be passionate about supporting pupils of all age groups to excel in English and is also a female empowerment and diversity trainer for young women at Secondary School for Fearless Futures, as well as a private tutor for Arsenal Football Club’s young rising stars.
