Alice completed her A-Levels in Latin, Psychology, French and German, before going on to graduate with a degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge in 2012. She has since worked as a full-time teacher of Classics in the private sector in London schools. In 2016, Alice completed a Master’s degree in Classical Reception at the prestigious UCL, and she will be embarking upon a PhD also at UCL in September 2018, exploring the reception of classical themes in the works of Tom Stoppard. For the past 2 years, Alice has been the Head of Classics at an Independent Boys’ Senior School in London, running a busy department and teaching Latin and Ancient Greek. She also has the role of Head of Oxbridge, assisting and supporting students in their applications to Oxford and Cambridge and other top universities.
Alice has many years of experience with private tuition, in Latin, Ancient Greek, Classical Civilisation and Ancient History. She has had great success with students sitting GCSEs and A-Levels and has also worked with undergraduate Classics students. Alice enjoys fostering a genuine love of the Classics with her students: her approach to teaching and tuition is to ensure that students are engaging with their work on a personal level, making it relatable and enjoyable.
In addition to her teaching work, Alice loves reading and writing. It is her dream to become a published author, and she recently spent a month in Italy working on a novel of historical fiction which she hopes she will be able to finish soon. She spends a lot of time watching films and eating Thai food in her home in Hampstead.
